Will there be a definitive winner in the format war raging between Blu-Ray and HD-DVD?

I think there's a good chance that neither will gain the acceptance of current DVDs, but I'd go with Blu-Ray if I had to. Blu-Ray has more studio support and the PS3 will help drive consumer acceptance.

A lot of people are starting to declare Blu-Ray as the winner of the format war. Sales of Blu-Ray players and movies are outselling HD-DVD 2:1 and it's only a matter of time before stores start dropping HD-DVD titles. Let's not forget, the stores never wanted a format war (it's bad for business) and are eager to delcare to a winner.

Which way did/is the porn industry go/going to go? Shocked

On NPR there was a blurb about the previous format war (VHS vs Betamax) and they reported that the makers of VHS lobbied the porn industry in the San Fernando Valley in CA big time.  It was the opinion of the piece that that was the major reason that VHS won that war.

Of course it may be moot now with porn so readily available on the internet, but NPR did say that both current format makers were heading to The Valley to lobby again.

I think porn will be available on both formats but early titles have been released on Blu-Ray.
